The Building Phase
One spends months in the planning phase of a new house, tweaking plans to get the ideal home. Realising the concept had to wait till the actual build. The building phase of our eco home was really fast. From one photo to the next the house was going up at speed.
I was always surprised that in this day and age we were not offered a 3D concept of the house (I did ask). Afterall, in the TV program Grand Designs, every house build has a 3D actualisation of the new home! On TV they don’t have to wait till the actual building phase see the expected results! As our house was the first to be built on this new eco estate it would have been helpful if we had been given a 3D representation. CAD systems can do amasing things. Be that as it may, we just had 2D drawings.
Showhouse
After our house was “complete”, the developer used the house as a showhouse. Potential buyers had the real thing to look at … until the cellar started leaking and then the developer stopped showing the house!
